Odds, Ends & Final Thoughts

RIGHT PLACE, RIGHT TIME

Recently, some independent film makers came to Virginia City to make a short film of our beloved town and Lake Tahoe. This debuted at the Cordillera International Film Festival.

As it is, Silent Riders are usually on hand to lend atmosphere to the town and in this case, made cameo appearances in this film short.

Calico Annie & Silver Strike mingled with the visitors and helped make everyone feel welcome

Calico Annie  discussed the Silent Riders with a Visitor and quite possibly one of the film makers.

Silver Strike, Calico Annie and other visions from the past discussed Quantum Physics, Black Holes and of course guns.

It was a fine day for the film makers who went on to Lake Tahoe to continue their film quest, after watering their horses in Virginia City. I'm sure The Silent Riders left quite the impression on the budding movie-makers.

The VC Silent Riders only "Shadow Rider"

Athena McIntyre pens a theme song for The Silent Riders

This weeks article in the Comstock Chronicle. June 10,2022

(Story and photos by Melody Hoover)

Athena McInyre is the only “Shadow Rider” of the Virginia City Silent Riders  and is an extremely talented singer songwriter. She is located in Northern Nevada and with her gift of storytelling she has written and produced the Silent Riders song. Silent Rider Ralph Ewing, one of the four original Inceptors and answered to SR name Silver Strike, recalls that “Athena created the Silent Rider theme song a couple years ago, and first sang it publicly at a Firehouse-Silent Rider Street Dance event. The song has evolved since then and for doing that, the First Four created the Shadow Rider designation and awarded it to Athena.”

Athena graciously sat down with me for a chat about writing the Silent Riders song and I thank her for her time. Athena said her Grandparents told her to always follow her heart and her heart has always wanted to bring love, joy and music to others, which she clearly does through this song, and has been doing for over a decade now. She plays many instruments, such as piano, electric guitar and harmonica, her harmonica has been with her since she was 22 years old and is played in the beginning of the Silent Riders song. Athena has this quote for the Silent Riders as their sole Shadow Rider, “Without a shadow- you no longer exist, the Silent Riders will now live forever,” a nod to Peter Pan. You can learn more about Athena and purchase the SR song, along with others Below:

FINAL THOUGHTS.....

Who we really are...

We are a group of men and women trying to preserve the past by showing the future generation our wonderful city and the love we have for one another. It's been bitterly said  that we are"just a bunch of Hollywood cowboys", but of course  thats small minded thinking and misses the point entirely . We are endeavoring to be  "Stewards Of The Past" and teaching the future young ones to be "Ambassadors To The Future"! ...and Thats the goal......

Think About it

Be thankful for your struggle, because without it, you would not find your strength.

Act upon it

For the Love of God And Country!
