Step Back In History

Preserving Our History, One Building at a Time

In the late 1890s, Jack Davis gained a measure of fame as a gunman for the cattle interests, including rancher John Sparks, who would later become a Nevada governor, that were attempting to restrict sheep ranchers from southern Idaho and northeastern Nevada rangelands.  Following a sensational trial in 1896, Davis was convicted of murdering two sheepherders.  He was sentenced to be hanged, even after others confessed to the murders.  (Ross as Jack Davis)

1800's Colorized Photo Of Virginia City Looking North

Virginia City Silent Riders was founded in 2018 and became a 501(c)(4) in 2023 by a group of passionate historians and preservationists who saw a need for a more comprehensive approach to historical preservation. Since then, we have worked on numerous projects across the county. You can find Silent Riders walking the boardwalk, helping make visitors stay, a much more memorable one.

FINAL THOUGHTS.....

Who we really are...

We are a group of men and women dedicated to preserving the past by showing the future generation our wonderful city and the love we have for one another.

It's been bitterly said that we are "just a bunch of Hollywood cowboys" and "a clown show"  but of course we all know that's their very small minded thinking, wrong and misses the point entirely.

We are endeavoring to be  "Stewards Of The Past" and teaching the future young ones to be "Ambassadors To The Future"! ... Thats the goal......And thats a good thing.

Know This:  The Silent Riders

DO NOT condone violence of any kind,

They Condone LAW & Order!

Think About it

Be thankful for your struggle, because without it, you would not find your strength.

Act upon it

For the Love of God And Country!
