The Sutro Tunnel is a drainage tunnel connected to the Comstock Lode in Dayton Nevada. It begins at the Dayton entrance, and connects 3.88 miles Northwest to the Savage mine in Virginia City, Nevada. The Sutro Tunnel pioneered the excavation of large drainage and access tunnels.

Silent Riders Summer BBQ Kickoff

The Silent Riders gathered in Virginia City to host a summer BBQ. Delicious Hamburgers and Hotdogs were the fare of the dat along with soft drinks. It was a wonderful time and the Riders ate and exchanged stories of their recent past and what the forthcoming summer months held in store for the group.

Virginia City Silent Riders was founded in 2018 and became a 501(c)(4) in 2023 by a group of passionate historians and preservationists who saw a need for a more comprehensive approach to historical preservation. Since then, we have worked on numerous projects across the county. You can find Silent Riders walking the boardwalk, helping make visitors stay, a much more memorable one.
