Silent Riders

OUR PLEDGE

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for ALL

FOUNDERS STATEMENT

The “Virginia City Silent Riders” is a private, volunteer, 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to the appreciation of all aspects of the “1800’s historically correct” history of the National Historic Landmark District encompassing the former mining villages of Virginia City and Gold Hill in Storey County, as well as Dayton and Silver City in Lyon County. We are “STEWARDS OF THE PAST, AMBASSADORS TO THE FUTURE”©.

Founded in 2018 and became a 501(c)(4) in 2023, trademarked with the Nevada Secretary of State as the “Virginia City Silent Riders ™, the “Silent Riders” were historically members of the “vigilance committee” that existed in Virginia City during the 1870’s. Our members, including both men and women, walk the boardwalks wearing 1870’s period clothing, “making history come alive” for the nearly two million annual visitors to Virginia City, Nevada.
